Three miles west of Novato is this 139 acre park. Among the many things to do here, is a playground made of wood and metal on sand with a view of the lake. There are two toddler full-bucket swings and two big kid swings, and a climbing gym with slides. No fence and lots of geese means watch where your child steps. When a large tree fell and crushed most of the park, a new one was built and dedicated in the late Spring of 2002. You and your little ones won’t want to miss this fun park. It is not fenced in however. There are two play areas both on wood chips. All equipment is new made of metal and plastic on wood chips and rubber mats. There is an airport theme carried over in the play toys such as a free-standing airplane and helicopter. Perhaps by giving it a bit of attention the local the residents will rally and try to do something about improving the condition. Because of its close proximity to a baseball field, this playground looks to be part of a school. It is not. You are welcome to play here. The one thing unique to this place is that there is not a big central play structure but several different smaller items. The most impressive is the double water tube tunnel on a spongy rubber surface which is functional in hot weather months.
